Sanskrit Dictionary for Spoken Sanskrit

Listen to the salutation to the dawn,

Look to this day for it is life,

the very life of life,

In it lies all the verities and realities of existence.

The bliss of growth, the splendour of beauty,

yesterday is but a dream

and tomorrow is only a vision,

today well spent makes every yesterday

a dream of happiness

and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well therefore to this day.

Such is the salutation to the dawn.

Shambhala is a Sanskrit term
meaning "place of peace/tranquility/happiness".

morning song

The concept of Shambhala is said to have outer, inner, and alternative meanings.

The outer meaning understands Shambhala to exist as a physical place, although only individuals with the appropriate karma can reach it and experience it as such.

The inner and alternative meanings refer to more subtle understandings of what Shambhala represents in terms of one's own body and mind (inner), and during meditative practice (alternative).

These two types of symbolic explanations are generally passed on orally from teacher to student.
